Ability Deviations
As in the real world, a racehorse’s ability will deviate from race to race. Some racehorses will deviate more than others. A racehorse that deviates the most from its average racing ability can perform exceedingly well, and at the same time perform very poorly.
The amount of deviation from a racehorse’s average ability is given randomly at birth (minting) and cannot be influenced by a stable owner.
When breeding, the aim is to breed with racehorses that you recognise will yield the best possible racing ability for your offspring. For example, the greater the ability of your racehorse, the fewer chances a ‘bad day’ will impact its race result(s).
