Tournament FAQ

Disclaimers

By entering the tournament, you agree to us using images of your horse and referring to your stable in all marketing communications relevant to the tournament.
We may change the times and date of the tournament races. We will publish any changes to the race schedule on this website.

Why are you using place rate (% of top 3 finishes) to decided which racehorses qualify for the first tournament?

Place rate opens up qualification opportunities to a wider range of racehorses, regardless of which class they are in. We want this tournament to be accessible to racehorses in all classes, not just Class 1. In the future, tournaments will have different eligibility criteria to encourage a wide range of participants.
A racehorses plate rate will be calculated based on all distances funnels entered into during the qualifying period. Therefore, racehorses will rank in the distance category they have raced most in and the order is still determined by place rate across all races.
Racehorses will rank in the distance category they have raced most in and the order is determined by place rate across all races. This ensures fairer racing and eliminates racehorses purposely de-classing to more easily qualify.

How do I qualify?

Your racehorse can qualify for the tournament by being one of the top 192 racehorses in a specific distance preference funnel at the end of the qualifying period. Your racehorse must have run at least 30 races during that period, and races must have been run according to distance preference funnels. A racehorse will only qualify for the distance category they are ranked highest in at the end of the qualifying period.
Therefore, to qualify for the sprinters funnel your 30 races must have been run at 1000m, 1200m or 1400m. To qualify for the middle distance runners funnel your races must have been run at 1600m, 1800m or 2000m. To qualify for the marathon runners funnel your races must have been run at 2200m, 2400m or 2600m.

How do I know if my racehorse(s) have qualified?

The leaderboard will stay public until the tournament has finished, so you can check in any time to see if you have qualified.

What are the tiebreaker rules?

In the event of a tie at the end of qualification, the tiebreaker rules will take the following priorities: Place Rate > Win % > Number of Races.

What distances do the racehorses run during the finals of the first tournament?

Sprinters will run races at 1200m, Middle Distance Runners at 1800m and Marathon Runners at 2400m. In the Grand Finals however, the racehorses will run six races across a variety of distances to decide the winner of the tournament.
