Structure

Week One: All Class 1 racehorses will be competing to finish in the top 192 in each distance funnel (576 total) based on the scoring format provided. Every racehorse that qualifies will receive a prize of $104.
Week Two: Points from the first week will reset. Only the 576 horses that qualified during week one are eligible to earn points during the second week. From here, the top 48 racehorses (144 total) in each distance funnel will advance to the semi final. Each racehorse will receive an additional $104 for qualifying for the Semi Finals.

Distance Funnels

The Class 1 Premier uses distance funnel as a fair way to categorise the top performing racehorses across all distances.
During the Qualifying Period, racehorses are ranked according to the distance funnel in which they compete: Sprinter, Midrunner or Marathoner. The distance funnels are defined as follows:
Distance Category
Distance Funnel
Sprinter
1000m, 1200m, 1400m
Midrunner
1600m, 1800m, 2000m
Marathoner
2200m, 2400m, 2600m

Qualifying Period Eligibility

To be eligible for qualification in the Class 1 Premier Quarter Finals, you must meet the following criteria:
  • A racehorse can only qualify in one distance funnel
  • A racehorse can only accumulate points in PAID racing
  • A racehorse will LOSE points for racing in daily racing tournaments
The top 192 horses with the most points in each distance funnel will qualify.
Only paid races in Class 1 will count towards qualifying for the Class 1 Premier.

Penalties for free races

  • For each daily tournament quarter final that a racehorse qualifies for, it will lose five points
  • For each daily tournament semi final that a racehorse qualifies for, it will lose a further five points
  • For each daily tournament final that a racehorse qualifies for, it will lose a further five points
  • For each daily tournament final that a racehorse finishes in the top three for, it will lose a further five points
Example:
A C1 horse that races in and wins (or even finishes second or third) in a daily tournament will lose a total of twenty points for the C1 Premier qualifying. This applies to both week one and week two.
If a horse was to make the final but not finish in the top three, it will have lost 15 ranking points for the C1 Premier.

Grand Final

The top four racehorses from each distance funnel will have the chance to run in the Grand Final, with a point structure to help us determine the Class 1 Premier Grand Champion. The point structure is displayed below:
1st: 7 points 2nd: 5 points 3rd: 4 points 4th: 3 points 5th 2 points 6th 1 point 7th: 1 point 8-12: 0 points
As with the Semi Finals and Finals, if there is a tie, the racehorse that was seeded higher IN THE SECOND WEEK is the racehorse that will win the tiebreaker.
Being across multiple funnels with the chance that two racehorses may have been seeded the same number in two separate funnels, if seedings are the same for the two tied racehorses, the racehorse with the HIGHEST Class Point rating will be the winner.
