ZED Champions is the next step in the evolution of ZED RUN, the digital horse racing game that captured the world’s attention. ZED Champions builds on what made ZED RUN special and offers a reimagined, competitive game of skill.
Here’s a closer look at the journey you'll embark on in ZED Champions, where your racing, breeding, and strategic decisions pave the way for your horses' legendary status.
In ZED Champions, players own and breed racehorses that compete in the exclusive Racing Pool. This new racing design creates opportunities for players of all levels, offering a continuous stream of events with ever-escalating stakes.
To shake up the playing field, the racehorse mechanics that ZED RUN players mastered have been expanded, introducing deeper gameplay that rewards skill, efficient management and analysis. With the addition of Augments, you can now take this mastery and control even further.
ZED Champions fully utilises $ZED Token across all aspects of the ecosystem, reinforcing our commitment to creating a sustainable, scalable and rewarding racing game.
In ZED Champions, breeding is where your stable’s legacy begins. After proving themselves on the track, retired racehorses join the breeding pool, paving the way for new champions to emerge from their lineage. Using our Dynamic Auction Breeding system, male horses (studs) are listed in the marketplace, where mare owners can bid with $ZED Token for the opportunity to create new champions. Every successful pairing brings a new champion to life and deepens your stable’s strategy, building on bloodline, traits, and potential.
Breeding Strategy Tip: Strategic players focus on pairing studs with traits that align with their mare’s strengths. Through careful selection, you can maximise the offspring’s potential, creating a champion that carries your stable’s legacy.
The racing pool is the heart of ZED Champions, where 4,320 elite horses participate in eight-horse race events. Horses are automatically entered into races, competing for points and race payouts with each run that impacts their leaderboard standings. Each horse races twice daily until retired, challenging rivals and fighting for prominence.
Leaderboards TL;DR: ZED Champions tracks two key metrics - Balance and Matchmaking Points.
The Balance Leaderboard reflects each horse’s standing in current balance within the racing pool and also indicates which horses are most at risk of being replaced. Think of it as the hierarchy of active careers and $ZED Token value.
The Matchmaking Leaderboard ranks horses by performance and sets them up for future races, offering a snapshot of each horse’s current form.
Augments offer players a way to influence their horse’s performance. These items can elevate your horse’s natural abilities and add a tactical layer to your racing strategy.
There are three types of Augments:
Passive Augments - provide consistent performance boosts.
Situational Augments - activate under specific conditions, like last-moment speed boosts.
Progressive Augments - adapt to performance, providing benefits that trigger after specific conditions are met during a horse’s career.
Augmentation Insight: Augments enhance but don’t overshadow a horse’s natural abilities. Strategic use of augments can be the difference between a steady competitor and a top-ranking champion.
$ZED Token is the backbone of ZED Champions, powering everything from breeding to race entry fees and marketplace transactions. Here’s what that means for you:

A unique balance mechanic in the Racing Pool that raises stakes with each win.
The Balance System: When a horse enters the racing pool through breeding, it retains a portion of its $ZED auction price as a balance. Every race contributes an automatic percentage of this balance into the prize pool. This amount is relative to all horses in the race, meaning races will escalate in stakes as horses with higher and higher balances match up!
